I am an emerging artist from Halifax, Nova Scotia. I began my artistic career as a painter, but have since added a practice of contemporary embroidery to my time in the studio. I draw a lot of inspiration from nature, fashion, and interior design. Much of my work is an attempt to find tension and balance between the worlds of fine art, illustration, and craft. I find line very expressive and incorporate drawn and linear elements into much of my work, especially in figures and gestures. This linework is often a commonality between both my paintings and embroidery work.
I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts from NSCAD University in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
I make my work in my home studio on a small acreage in the Annapolis Valley that looks out on cows, pastureland, and the North Mountain. I share my home and studio with my husband, our two cats, and our dog.
